Familia De Rubro Monte

The “Familia de Rubro Monte” Association was born 16 years ago, it was an idea of ​​the late Nello Manduca, founding father and President of the Association until October 2016, who passed away in 2008. For him, we’d like to ask you to dedicate a large applause. The intuition came to fruition one evening in April 2007, chatting among friends about the countless cultural riches that our country has always boasted. This friendly conversation ended with the desire and need to enhance these assets. Therefore, on 14 September 2007, the Familia De Rubro Monte association was founded with the aim of highlighting the peculiar characteristics of Monterosso Calabro. From the beginning, the Association has its registered office in Via G. Marconi, right in the historic center.

“Nasce Familia de Rubro Monte”

The Association’s logo recalls the shield that appears on the bells of our churches; the field of the shield is blue, the same as the shield of the coat of arms of our Municipality, while the five-pointed star takes us back to our ancient and glorious past. At the foot of the tower there is an ancestral lizard, a sign of fortitude and perseverance!

In 2008, ours became a Volunteer Association and as such is authorized to receive liberal donations, bequests, inheritances and above all 5 per 1000 on tax returns.

Since 2016, the association has also established the “Familia de Rubro Monte publishing house” of the same name. The project of the “Familia De Rubro Monte” publishing house was born from the idea that the association could give life to an experience that would strengthen its nature as a place of cultural fruitfulness. We had defined it as an ambitious dream, a challenging bet.

Furthermore, since 2023, the Association has been recognized and registered in RUNTS, i.e. the Single National Register of the Third Sector.

The Motto

The Association, having as its motto the phrase “NOBIS RADICES SEMPER AMADAE

SUNT” (we love our roots), has among its aims the valorization of all Monterossians who, during their lives, have achieved success, prestige and fame, valorising their country of origin in the internal world and therefore never forgetting the place that gave them birth.
